Ministries

Eucharist:
A Eucharistic Minister’s duties are to assist the priest at Mass by helping to distribute Communion. Some are invited to visit and bring Communion to the housebound.

Word:
This involves training and commissioning to read the Word of God at public masses. Ministers of the Word are generally rostered to read at regular intervals subject to their availability

Baptism team:
Volunteers welcome.

Altar Servers:
Volunteers welcome.

Readers:
Read at daily and weekend mass.
Co-ordinator Sr. Frances

Ministers of Eucharist:
Distribute Holy Communion in church and to sick & housebound. Meet occasionally.
Co-ordinator Margaret Alford.

Family Mass group:
A group fo adults and children who prepare the liturgy and singing for the 10.30am Family Mass on Sundays

Choir:
Senior Choir – Sing at 11.30am mass each Sun.
Practice 7pm on Fridays.

The Junior Choir who sing at the Family Mass practice at 6pm on Fridays

Folk Group – Sing at 6.30pm mass each Sat.
Practice at 7pm on Thursday.

Other Groups

Finance & Maintenance Group:
Meet every Monday in Sacristy from 7.30pm. They organise Family Offering Envelopes, count money, advise on income and expenditure in parish.

Newsletter:
Parish Newsletter is produced and distributed every two weeks. Items for publication should be submitted by previous Weds.
Contact Parish Office.

Liturgy Group:
Meets every quarter to reflect and plan for Liturgy. Notice in Newsletter.

St. Cillians NS Board of Management:
Meet once a month.
Secretary – Shone Hayes.

Our Lady of the Wayside NS:
Meet once a month.
Secretary – Julie Banim.

Parish Pastoral Council:
As encouraged by Pope John Paul the 2nd, parish councils are being set up in all parishes to involve the laity in the defining the needs, planning and delivery of services in all parishes.
Meet once a month.
Secretary – Maeve Reidy, Chairperson Bernie O'Raw.

Church décor group:
Meet every Thurs evening to arrange displays and decoration for various liturgical seasons. Co-ordinator: Maureen Nagle

Gardeners:
This group ensure that the church grounds are kept maintained and looking tidy and colourful.

Church Cleaners:
The church cleaners in the parish, dust, hoover and sweep. A rota is set up among the different groups. The rota ensures that the church is well kept at all times.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul:
Outreach to poor in parish.
Secretary Phyllis Morgan.

Legion of Mary:
Spiritual outreach to people of parish. Meet Monday at 7.15pm in church.
Secretary – Pat O'Donoghue.

Bereavement Group:
To accompany people going through bereavement.
To be arranged.

Parish Visitation Group:
Outreach to all homes in parish.
To be arranged.

Collectors:
Church collectors are a group of parishioners who help collect the baskets after the collection at Mass.
